After completing my A-levels at Bilborough College, I went to East 15 Acting School for a year. Afterwards, I studied Psychology at Nottingham Trent University. As part of my degree, I worked with NIDAS for a year, where I helped deliver 1:1 support to teenagers as well as drama workshops for children. I graduated from University last year and now I'm here at TAS!
I came to TAS because I thought it looked really fun! I was craving adventure, and I wanted a job with variety and lots of outdoor opportunities. I also wanted to support people to have an enjoyable time. All of that was exactly what TAS was offering, so of course I applied!
My first couple of weeks have been fantastic. I'm quite shy and it's been a while since I've had much face-to-face contact thanks to Covid, but I've started slowly getting to know everybody and I feel like I've made a couple of bonds with the Adventurers already. The staff have also been extremely supportive, which has been great for settling me in.
The activities have been really fun too, and time flies! My favourite thing so far has been going on walks, because its a great way to bond. I also enjoyed watching the adventurers have fun swimming; it was very heart-warming! Canoeing during staff training was great too. I've never done it before and it was so beautiful there, and I felt very chilled out being on the lake.
I'm looking forward to continuing to get to know the adventurers and develop bonds with everybody, because that's the biggest highlight of the job for me.
